NZ Nationals 2026 Online Registration

We happy to announce that registrations for the NZ Nationals can now be done online in advance of the competition. This will make for a vastly improved experience for entrants and the event organisers. Please read the instructions carefully before registering your entries.

Important things to note:

You don’t need to register online to enter the competition. You can still turn up on the day and register using paper forms as per usual at past NZ Nationals. However, pre-registration will allow you to quickly check in on the day with minimal delays.

Online registration will close at 10 a.m. on Friday 30th October.

Check-in and manual registration will be open over the following periods.

4.00 to 8.00pm – Friday 30th October 

8.30 to 10.00am – Saturday 31st October

Payment. Entry fees are $10.00 for the first entry, thereafter $5.00 per entry, capped at $30.00.

Junior entries (17 years and younger) $10.00 flat fee. For junior entries please disregard system calculated fee totals if more than one entry, just pay $10.00

Entrants will receive a competition lanyard which will allow the use of the Hornby Club bar and restaurant facilities. 

Entry fees must be paid in cash during the check in process. 

Alternatively, quoting your entrant number in the reference field, you have the option to prepay entry fees up-to Thursday 29th October by paying to

You need to be an IPMS member to enter the competition. As this is an IPMS member only event, you’ll need to quote your club name before entering – if you don’t want to join a club you can still enter the competition under the Non IPMS category (N1).

Online Registration

  • Click the Register for NZ Nationals 2026 button below
  • Click Register
  • Fill out your details including a mobile number – this will allow the organisers to contact you during the event if needed.
  • For entrant class, choose either Adult or Junior
  • Pick a password and click ‘Create Account’ You can now use these details to make changes to your account details or entries at any point before the show.
  • Once registered, you’ll be taken to the entries page. To start entering models click on “New Entry” at the end of the screen.
  • Add an entry photo – this isn’t required but will make it much easier for the judges to correctly find your model on the table. It will also be used during the presentation of awards.
  • Select the correct category for your model – you may have to use the search eg “figures” Refer to the Competition Classes if you’re not sure.
  • Provide a name for your model – eg Spitfire mk1
  • Enter in a Manufacturer eg Tamiya or Scratch build
  • Enter the scale eg 1/72
  • Enter Special Category if relevant. New Zealand Subject and/or Best Theme Award (Afghanistan Conflict 2001–2022). Models may be entered in one special category or multiple categories if applicable to the subject
  • Click the Create Entry button. You can then review the entry details – if everything looks correct, click the back button.
  • This will take you back to the Entries page. The fees payable on your entry will be displayed here – these will be payable when you check into the show.
  • Click the New Entry button to enter additional models.
  • Congratulations! You’re all set. You can bookmark the page and come back at any point before the show and make changes to any of your details or models. We look forward to seeing you at the show.
