The 2019 New Zealand IPMS National Competition & Model Expo

The International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS) Christchurch is proud to be hosting the 2019 New Zealand IPMS National Competition & Model Expo at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand over the weekend of the 7th & 8th of September.

The 2019 New Zealand IPMS National Competition is the premier event on the IPMS calendar and is held annually to display scale models of all types and scales and allows members to compete for the coveted Best in Show award.

It includes Best in Class awards and the awarding of ribbons for differing levels of excellence. This years theme will commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day & the Normandy Campaign from the 6th of June to 30th August 1944.

Included in this years competition will be a Model Expo which will include displays of scale models, model train layouts, war gamming tables and other modelling subjects. There will also be a “Project Airfix” table where the kids can have a go at making a model of their choice and take it home with them afterwards.

There will be vendors tables present selling all manner of models from tanks and cars, aircraft and ships and other modelling materials.

The 2019 New Zealand IPMS National Competition Presentations & Dinner will be held on the evening of the 7th of Sept at the Wigram Base Hotel starting at 6-00pm.

Ticket sales are on the door only.
Additional fees may apply.
Tickets are for one day, but you can re-enter as often as you like during the day.

Doors open 10.00am both days.

  • There is also going to be a Buy/Sell area set up
